Transaction Advisory Services for Capital Mobilization (Malawi)

The Investment Support Facility (ISF) for Smallholder Inclusive Transactions for Malawi is a three-year project that aims to unlock capital for agricultural and economic diversification in Malawi under the Agricultural Transformation Initiative (ATI). The ISF will facilitate the packaging and closing of a diversity of debt, equity, and blended finance transactions, while supporting the development of inclusive, gender-equitable business models that integrate smallholder farmers and micro and small enterprises (MSEs).
Main project features: Support agricultural enterprises in non-tobacco value chains with high impact potential to mobilize capital from local or international investors. Activities performed: Analysis of market landscape for agricultural financing in Malawi and the Southeast Africa region Participation in training workshops and investor events Identifying and evaluating agricultural enterprises with a view to their capital raising potential and impact generating capacity Identifying and contacting suitable investors for the agricultural enterprises Organization of virtual and physical roadshows, deal rooms or other investor events Process management and deal structuring Financial analysis, stress-testing and modelling * The amounts and quantities stated are indicative based on the first two sub-projects acquired under the framework programme (which has no intrinsic financial value) which will start in early 2020. Over time we expect a substantially higher revenue and level of effort. The remuneration basis for sub-projects is based on a mixture of deliverables- and success-based components; the USD figure stated above represents a conservative estimate.
